Culture change is a movement that is spreading throughout our nation's nursing homes. There are many fine models of culture change and programs that nursing homes can join to guide their implementation efforts; however, many nursing homes are unable to make the commitment to engage in the full efforts of these fine programs. Despite their limitations in joining one of the existing programs and fully implementing all the elements of culture change, these nursing homes desire to begin on the path of transforming their homes within their existing situations. The Culture Change Nurse Coordinator is one means for this to occur.

The Culture Change Nurse Coordinator is a member of the nursing home who champions and guides the efforts for culture change. This "inhouse culture change resource" bridges knowledge into practice and helps the interdisciplinary team members understand and implement culture change principles and practices.

The Culture Change Nurse Coordinator Certification Program is offered in the form of live workshops, hard copy Manual and Study Guide, and online modules that can be downloaded, which is the format offered here. The Culture Change Nurse Coordinator Certification Program Modules consist of four modules that you can complete at your own pace. You must purchase and study all four modules to fulfill the requirements. The completion of the entire program should take 24 hours. Your familiarity with the content and experience may affect the amount of time you need to invest in the review.

Within Module IV you will find the materials that you need to complete to obtain 24 contact hours and fulfill the requirements for certification which consists of:

• Completing the Artifacts of Culture Change tool. This tool will enable you to assess the stage of culture change for your nursing home.
• Developing an implementation plan that is unique to your nursing home.
• Passing the examination with a score of at least 80%
