Health Education Network Partners with Leading LTC Nursing Association for Certification Programs

In an effort that will enhance competencies for long term care nurses and raise awareness of the complexities of their roles, Health Education Network has partnered with the American Association for Long Term Care Nursing (AALTCN) in the development of certification programs for the majors roles in LTC settings, including: DON, Staff Development Specialist, LPN, RN, Culture Change Nurse Coordinator, and Safety Specialist.
These certification programs address the need expressed by the Institute of Medicine to enhance the competencies of the workforce caring for older adults.

By combining Health Education Network’s experience in developing relevant educational programs for LTC nurses with AALTCN’s leadership in the advancement of the LTC nursing specialty, these dynamic certification programs have been created in a variety of formats (e.g., print and online).
